Hyderabad loses nearly 200 hours a year to traffic and sleepless nights
Hyderabad commuters lose approximately 123 hours annually to severe traffic congestion. Rising nighttime temperatures also cause residents to lose about 75 hours of sleep each year. This sleep loss is higher than the global average, impacting southern India significantly. Densely built urban areas exacerbate heat retention, slowing nighttime cooling processes. Climate change and warmer nights increasingly interfere with adequate sleep for many people.
