China has called Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei’s proposal to slow the pace of AI development a “Cold War playbook”. A Chinese newspaper said that the demand to halt AI’s progress in the name of security was a conspiracy to maintain America’s technological monopoly. The newspaper wrote, “This is a hidden AI Cold War.
