Redmi Pad 2 Pro review, 12.1-inch display:Value for money package with 12,000mAh large battery and reverse charging
Redmi has launched its new tab, Redmi Pad 2 Pro, in India. This mid-range segment tab comes with a 12,000mAh battery. Its starting price is ₹24,999. Our team has been using this tab for two months. We have learned about its pros and cons. So, let’s find out what’s special about it. Design: Metal body and 4 speakers with headphone jack The box includes the tablet along with some documents, a 33W fast charging adapter, and a Type-A to Type-C cable. Display: 12.1-inch screen and touch that works even with wet hands The most special feature of the Redmi Pad 2 Pro is its large 12.1-inch 2.5K screen. It features a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling and navigation extremely smooth. Thanks to Dolby Vision support, the experience of watching videos and playing games on it is fantastic. Colors and details appear perfectly clear, and you can enjoy 4K videos on it. Battery: Up to 5 days backup and reverse charging The Redmi Pad 2 Pro is equipped with a 12,000mAh battery. Even when kept in standby mode and watching online videos for about 3 hours daily, the battery dropped from 78% to only 26% in 5 days. Meanwhile, playing videos on YouTube for half an hour consumed only 3% of the battery. A 33W fast charger is included in the box for charging the battery. A major feature of the tablet is its 27W ‘reverse charging’ technology. This means you can use it like a power bank and charge your phone, earbuds, or smartwatch with this tablet. Performance: Better and smoother for daily use The Redmi Pad 2 Pro runs on the latest Hyper OS 2. It features Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, which provides high speeds up to 2.7GHz. For graphics, it has an Adreno 810 GPU. To understand the processor’s power, we conducted some benchmark tests, whose scores are given in the table below. Camera: Good option for meetings The Redmi Pad 2 Pro features an 8-megapixel camera on both the front and back. Photo and video quality from the rear camera is average. It offers modes like Portrait, Pro, and Document. Although it has up to 6.0x digital zoom, photos become slightly blurry when zoomed in. The good thing is that even after zooming, the ‘text’ written in the frame remains clear. The front camera works well. It makes skin tones clear and smooth. It also has HDR support, which adjusts the light well. Its frame is quite wide, making it a good option for online meetings or video conferences. Key Features: Loud sound and excellent connectivity Redmi Pad 2 Pro features 4 speakers with Dolby Atmos, which deliver very loud and clear sound. Their volume can be increased up to 300%. It also supports dual 5G SIM, meaning you can insert a SIM card into the tablet and use the internet directly. Due to the hybrid slot, you can also insert a memory card along with the SIM. Additionally, it also offers advanced features like Circle to Search and Gemini AI. Accessories: Pen and keyboard options For better connectivity, it features Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. The company also provides support for a smart pen and keyboard with this tablet, but these will have to be purchased separately. Both are priced at ₹3,999 each. The pen is pressure-sensitive, meaning the line becomes thicker when you press harder while writing. You can charge it with Type-C. The keyboard experience is very tactile. It doesn’t have a touchpad, but there are many shortcuts. Once charged, the keyboard lasts for weeks. These accessories turn your tablet into a mini laptop. However, using the tablet without these accessories doesn’t cause any problems; it entirely depends on the user’s needs. Final Verdict Speaking of prices, its Wi-Fi variant will cost you Rs 24,999. Meanwhile, the 128GB storage variant of the 5G model is priced at ₹27,999, and the 256GB top model costs ₹29,999. If you want a tablet with long battery life, a large and good display, and powerful performance, then the Redmi Pad 2 Pro could be a value-for-money deal. Reverse charging technology makes tablet usage advanced. Usually, tablet cameras don’t offer satisfaction, but the Redmi Pad 2 Pro’s camera will not disappoint. This tab runs on Hyper OS 2, which comes with 5 generations of Android OS updates and 7 years of security updates. Overall, buying the Redmi Pad 2 Pro in the 25 to 30 thousand range will not prove to be a bad deal.
