It is only days before ‘Ramayana’ releases, and with AR Rahman teaming up with Hans Zimmer, fans are expecting it to be musical genius at its best. Interestingly, Rahman also embarked on ‘The Wonderment Tour’ this November with his first performance in Mumbai on Sunday that saw over 10,000 fans sing some of his biggest hits together at the Jio World Garden, in unison.
The concert arrives at a defining moment in Rahman’s illustrious career because of the film’s release on November 5, and ahead of his performance in Delhi on November 21. The evening offered the massive crowd a journey through the extraordinary repertoire of an artist whose music has transcended generations, languages, and boundaries.
Highlights from AR Rahman’s Mumbai concert
Spanning decades of groundbreaking music, Rahman delivered a powerful live experience featuring his most iconic compositions. The stadium erupted to the infectious energy of ‘Jai Ho’, ‘Fanaa’, and ‘Roobaroo’, alongside the timeless appeal of ‘Taal Se Taal’, ‘Humma Humma’, ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’, and a stirring rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’.
The maestro was accompanied by a stellar musical ensemble including celebrated vocalists Jonita Gandhi, A.R. Ameen, Raghav, Nakul Abhyankar, Heer, and Rakshita joined Rahman on stage, adding incredible scale and musical diversity to the night.
The star-studded event, organised by Eva Live, also drew several prominent personalities from sports and cinema, including Anjali Tendulkar, Soha Ali Khan, veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai, and musical duo Mithoon and Palak Muchhal, who joined thousands of fans in celebrating the maestro’s legacy.
Now, after the Ramayana release, he will perform another show at Delhi’s Backyard Sports Club on November 21. While Rahman previously debuted the initial global premiere of ‘The Wonderment Tour’ in 2025 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai to an audience of over 50,000 people, he has not yet performed in the capital.
Rahman’s tour is one among quite a few Indian music tours in the rest of 2026 including Ricky Kej’s six-city tour starting in October, followed by ‘Dhurandhar’ hitmaker Madhubanti Bagchi in November too.
Amid global musicians performing in the country, Indian music lovers are in for a treat from some of our most celebrated artists in the next few months.
