Team India is set to clash with New Zealand in the five-match T20I series. Ahead of the series, cricket fans will be excited to see veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar in action.
The pacer has returned to the Indian mix after nearly four years. On his return, Bhuvneshwar will be eyeing two records.
He is falling short of 10 wickets to complete his tally of 100 wickets in the shortest format of the game. Currently, he has 90 wickets in 87 T20I matches for the “Men in Blue”. If he manages to claim the required wickets, he will then become the fifth Indian after Arshdeep Singh (145), Jasprit Bumrah (126), Hardik Pandya (114) and Axar Patel (113) to achieve the feat.
Additionally, Bhuvneshwar has 294 wickets across all formats of the game. If he picks up six wickets, the 36-year-old cricketer will then become 14th overall bowler from India and ninth pacer to achieve the feat of 300 international scalps.
The first clash is scheduled to be played on October 22 at the Hagley Park South in the central city of Christchurch. The second T20I match will be played on October 24 at the same venue. The third T20I match is scheduled to be played on October 27 at the Wellington Regional Stadium in Wellington, followed by the fourth game on October 30 at the Eden Park in Auckland. The Seddon Park in Hamilton will host the fifth clash on November 1.
It will be interesting to see if the pacer manages to make crucial contributions to the “Men in Blue” in the series.
