Cauvery water row heats up as Karnataka objects to 12,000-cusec release to Tamil Nadu
Karnataka minister Ramalinga Reddy stated releasing 12,000 cusecs of Cauvery water daily is difficult. This directive from the Cauvery Water Management Authority amounts to sixteen TMC. The state government is considering challenging this order in the Supreme Court. Farmers have initiated protests in Cauvery basin districts against the water release order. Discussions are ongoing regarding the state’s next course of action.
