Cauvery water row: Massive protest as panel directs Karnataka to release 4tmcft water to Tamil Nadu over 15 days
The Cauvery Water Regulation Committee has ordered Karnataka to release water. Karnataka must now release 3,500 cusecs daily to Tamil Nadu for fifteen days. This directive comes amid Karnataka’s drought conditions and depleting reservoir levels. Karnataka expressed dissatisfaction and may seek a review from the Cauvery Water Management Authority. Tamil Nadu insists on adherence to the Supreme Court-backed water-sharing formula.
