Ferrari’s Hamilton ready to take the fight to Mercedes this weekend

Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton believes he can compete for a win at this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix as he bids to close the 45-point gap to Mercedes’s championship leader Kimi Antonelli.

Hamilton has won the Hungarian GP eight times, making it the most successful race for him besides his home British GP. Cornering ability, and not raw power, tends to make the difference in Hungary, which could suit Ferrari.

“I think we’ve got a car that can compete. Mercedes is still the car to beat, and they won’t be easy to beat this weekend, but I do think we’ve made  progress. Hopefully, we can be fighting with them this weekend,” Hamilton said on Thursday.
