Indian choreographer Rajit Dev has scored a career-defining first by becoming the first Indian to choreograph a FIFA World Cup anthem. The achievement comes with ‘Siir Siir’ (FIFA World Cup 2026 anthem), a global collaboration featuring Nora Fatehi, French artiste Vegedream, and music producer Sanjoy. Shot in Morocco earlier this year, the track is part of FIFA’s newly unveiled 18-song official album for the 2026 World Cup.
Dev credits the opportunity to his long-standing association with Fatehi. “I have choreographed most of Nora’s international projects, and have worked with her for over a decade. She has immense respect for my craft, and when this song happened, her first thought was to work with me and my amazing set of dancers,” he told mid-day. Calling the project a proud milestone, Dev reflected on his two-decade journey in dance. “I’ve always admired international artistes and productions. To now choreograph a FIFA anthem that will be seen across the world, coming from Mumbai, is incredibly special. It’s one of those moments where you realise how far you’ve come,” he added.

Beyond personal success, Dev hopes the association with FIFA will shine a spotlight on Indian dance globally. “I’ve always wanted to take our culture and dance to the world stage. This will open doors internationally, and I’ll continue to bring elements of our culture into my signature style of choreography,” he signed off.
