Ganeshotsav 2026 | Grand procession marks immersion of Lord Ganesha idol in Beed

Preserving a 225-year-old legacy of communal harmony, Limbaganesh village in Beed tehsil of Maharashtra marked the conclusion of its five-day Ganesh festival on Saturday with the grand immersion of the Lord Mayureshwar idol in a lake.

The village strictly adheres to the “One Village, One Ganpati” tradition, installing only a single public idol. Following customs, the deity is immersed alongside Goddess Gauri.

The idol began its final journey at 1 pm following the main aarti. The procession featured traditional insignia, including ornamental umbrellas, flags, and ceremonial batons.

Brass bands, traditional musical instruments and troupes singing devotional songs accompanied the procession amid chanting of “Ganpati Bappa Morya”.

After circumambulating the village Maruti temple, the idol was placed on a decorated bullock cart, enabling thousands of devotees from surrounding rural belts to offer prayers.

Strict security arrangements were made along the procession route.
