In the second T20I match against Team India, New Zealand has reached the score of 66 runs for the loss of three wickets in 10 overs at the Hagley Park South in the central city of Christchurch.

Having been put to bat first, New Zealand’s wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert scored seven runs in six balls, including a maximum. Fellow opening batsman Finn Allen smashed 16 runs in 14 balls, including a maximum.

Daryl Mitchell registered six runs in five balls with the help of a boundary. Glenn Phillips and Bevon Jacobs are unbeaten at the crease.

Team India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, and Prince Yadav have bagged one wicket each. Naman Dhir, Axar Patel, and Nitish Kumar Reddy are yet to claim any wickets.

Earlier, Team India’s skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bowl first against the “Black Caps”.

The game also marked the 300th T20I match for the “Men in Blue”. With this, India became the second team to reach the feat after Pakistan.

The “Men in Blue” entered the clash with two changes, where Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will come in place of Ishan Kishan, and Mayank Yadav will make way for Prince Yadav.

After winning the toss, Team India’s skipper Iyer said, “We’re going to bowl first. Yes, absolutely. That’s one of the reasons (On dew being a factor). We have had a little bit of time to recover and catch up on some sleep. Everyone is in decent shape, I would say. Some of the players, including myself, do their training on match day. So, we are in a good place. It is important to maintain the aggression and repeat the things we did well in the first game. In addition, we need to be proactive in the field and ensure we don’t have an extra fielder inside the circle, especially in the last over. Ishan is injured, so Vaibhav comes in for him. Prince comes in for Mayank, which is just a tactical change. He is going to bat at number three (on Vaibhav’s batting position)”.

The “Black Caps” have made just one change, where Jacob Duffy has replaced Adam Milne.
