New Zealand is set to take on Team India in the five-match T20I series. The match is scheduled to be played on October 22 at the Hagley Park South in the central city of Christchurch.

Ahead of the series, New Zealand has suffered a major blow as Mark Chapman and Zak Foulkes have been ruled out due to injuries.

Chapman sustained a hamstring injury while playing in a T20 league in Europe last month. After the injury, he has been ruled out of the entire T20I series against the “Men in Blue” and will now aim to return for the ODI series.

On the other hand, Foulkes is dealing with a hip flexor complaint, with no definitive timeline yet established for his return.

The “Black Caps” have now named all-rounder Josh Clarkson and pacer Blair Tickner in their 16-member squad for the five-match T20I series against Team India.

Additionally, star all-rounder Rachin Ravindra is in doubt for the T20I series against Team India. The left-handed batsman dislocated his shoulder during a promotional shoot.

The cricketer sustained an injury in an attempt to take a diving catch during a promotional shoot in Auckland on September 16.

Initial assessments by medical specialists on September 18 have ruled out major structural damage, but his return to cricketing action will depend on his progress during the first weeks of his rehabilitation, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC).

On the other hand, the visitors will receive a major boost as star pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has returned to India’s T20I mix. The pacer will don the Indian colours after nearly four years.
