India men beat Slovakia 3-2 in ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships

The Indian men’s table tennis team staged a spirited comeback to beat Slovakia 3-2 in a Group-7 tie at the ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships here.
Slovakia drew first blood as the veteran Lubomir Pistej outmanoeuvred Manush Shah 11-8, 5-11, 8-11, 11-5, 11-6. India hit back through Manav Thakkar, who downed Jakub Zelinka 11-6, 11-8, 11-6. However, Slovakia regained the upper hand as Wang Yang beat Harmeet Desai 16-14, 11-5, 11-9.
But Manav then overpowered Lubomir 11-3, 11-3, 11-3 to restore parity, before Manush sealed the tie by defeating Jakub 11-8, 11-8, 11-7.
