iPhone 17’s new price is now ₹99,900:iPhone 16 also becomes expensive; find new prices of all Apple smartphones

After the launch event, Apple has increased the prices of its older iPhone models. Usually, older models become cheaper after a new series is released, but this time the prices of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17e, iPhone Air, and iPhone 16 have gone up. At its ‘Surprise and Shine’ event, Apple launched the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable phone, the ‘iPhone Duo’. Immediately afterward, the company increased the prices of its current and older models in several countries, including India. Rising memory chip costs and component shortages are reportedly the main reasons behind the increase. iPhone 17: 256GB variant becomes ₹17,000 more expensive The price of the 256GB variant of the iPhone 17 was earlier ₹82,900, but it has now increased to ₹99,900. This represents a direct increase of ₹17,000. Meanwhile, the price of its 512GB variant has been raised from ₹1,02,900 to ₹1,24,900. This model has become ₹22,000 more expensive. iPhone Air: 1TB model gets a major ₹65,000 price hike The biggest price increase has been seen in the iPhone Air models. iPhone 17e and iPhone 16 also become more expensive The prices of the iPhone 17e and iPhone 16, which belong to Apple’s affordable model range, have also increased: Why did Apple increase the prices? The main reason for this price increase is the rising cost of memory chips and other essential smartphone components. The sudden surge in demand for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure and data centers has led to a severe shortage of semiconductors and memory components. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal in June, Apple’s then-CEO Tim Cook said that it had become impossible to prevent price increases. “We had been trying to avoid passing the cost burden we are facing on to customers, but the situation is now getting out of control.” Before Apple, several Android smartphone makers had also raised the prices of their handsets due to the rising cost of components.
