Several Indian cricketers have made big moves in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings following strong individual performances in their ongoing series against Afghanistan. Having established a 2-0 advantage in the three-match series in Delhi, the reigning T20 World Cup champions saw key contributions across the bowling and batting departments.

In the T20I bowling rankings, spinner Varun Chakaravarthy climbed two positions to reach fifth place, while lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah surged seven spots to enter the top 10 in 10th place. Fellow bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel also gained points, moving up 11 spots to 14th and six places to 27th, respectively.

In the batting department, opening batter Abhishek Sharma moved up to second place overall following a blistering 82-run knock in the opening match, overtaking Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan. Sharma now trails only top-ranked teammate Ishan Kishan, who holds a 51-point advantage at the top of the rankings. Wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson also gained ground, rising four places to 30th after scoring a half-century in the second fixture.

For Afghanistan, all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai made notable progress on the all-rounders chart after his unbeaten half-century in the first game of the series.

Updated ODI and Test rankings

In One-Day Internationals, Australian players made big gains following a 59-run win over Zimbabwe in Harare. Fast bowler Nathan Ellis jumped 20 spots to 20th in the ODI bowling rankings after taking a five-wicket haul. Player of the Match Matthew Renshaw climbed to 68th position among ODI batters after scoring 109, while Cooper Connolly moved up nine spots to 77th following his 51-run innings at number three.

In Test cricket, England fast bowler Ollie Robinson achieved a career-high ranking, moving up two places to third among Test bowlers after taking 21 wickets during the recent three-Test home series against Pakistan. Robinson also climbed seven positions to 13th among Test all-rounders. Teammate Josh Tongue reached a career-best 11th position, while wicketkeeper Jamie Smith moved up three places to 20th among Test batters.

Pakistan batters Babar Azam and Shan Masood also made progress, advancing to 13th and 37th positions, respectively, despite a poor series away from home for Pakistan.
