Karnataka govt moves Supreme Court against high court order on bike-taxis, cites women and child safety concerns
Karnataka government has approached the Supreme Court, challenging the High Court’s decision to lift the ban on bike-taxi services. The state argues that two-wheelers shouldn’t be classified as transport vehicles and raises safety concerns for passengers. This appeal follows the High Court’s directive to permit bike-taxi operations by issuing contract carriage permits.
