Spain and Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, 18, made his relationship with Ines Garcia, 21, public in May, and ever since, fans have been eager to know how they met. One report suggested that Yamal met her  at a store, opting to pay for her groceries when Garcia’s credit card declined. However, Garcia has now revealed how they actually met. 

As per Spanish news outlet Marca, Garcia, a social media influencer, said: “I’d like to tell you it was a crazy love story, but, no. We met on social media.” She added that they’ve been together for longer than people think. “We gave it time, getting to know each other little by little. We spent a long time talking online before seeing each other in person,” Garcia explained. 

Speaking about the World Cup and Yamal’s performance thus far (he has scored one goal in two starts), she said: “He’s the best. I think we’re [Spain] going to win the title.”
