Mumbai’s very own literature festival, Literature Live! The Mumbai LitFest will return for its 17th edition in October, a little less than a year after its previous edition. This year, it will be held from October 23 to 25 at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA).

Over 16 editions, the city-based literature festival, which is among the country’s most prestigious literary gatherings, has celebrated the written word in many different ways with a thriving space for meaningful dialogues between writers, thinkers, performers and audiences of varying ages, interests and dispositions.

Continuing its annual tradition, Godrej Literature Live! The Mumbai LitFest 2026 will cover a breadth of voices, spanning literature, cinema, journalism, economics, medicine, history, arts, sport, technology, environment, identity, and the digital ecosystem. 

Lineup for the 2026 edition

While the lineup at the Literature Live! The Mumbai LitFest, which took place from November 7 to 9 last year, saw the likes Anindita Ghose, Ashok Alexander, Ashok Vajpeyi, Atul Dodiya, Christian Stöcker, Dhananjay Chandrachud, the line-up this year includes stars from all different kinds of fields too. The speaker list includes Aditi Mittal, Anurag Minus Verma, Ayaz Memon, Boria Majumdar, Cyriac Abby Philips, Faye D’Souza, Gagan Gill, Gulzar, Irwin Allan Sealy, Jaspreet Bindra, Javed Akhtar, Jerry Pinto, Juhi Babbar, Kaushik Basu, Mazda Turel, Naman Ahuja, Pavan K Varma, Ramachandra Guha, Ratna Pathak Shah, Ria Chopra, Shanta Gokhale, Shashi Tharoor, Shefali Shah, and Sonali Kulkarni, among others.

Highlights for the upcoming edition 

The literature festival’s highlights include the Godrej Literature Live! Literary Awards for Lifetime Achievement and Poet Laureate. In 2025, The Godrej Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred on acclaimed Hindi novelist and poet Vinod Kumar Shukla. Meanwhile renowned Gujarati poet Sitanshu Yashaschandra received the Godrej Poet Laureate award.

The other awards are for Fiction, Non-fiction, and Business books, as well as the Great Debate, Book in Focus, international performances, workshops, book launches, and the ever-popular book swap. Along with the Godrej DEI Lab, this year’s edition continues to deepen its commitment to inclusion, foregrounding voices from the LGBTQIA+ community and minority groups.

For younger readers, the Literature Live! Little Festival, in collaboration with HT Parekh Foundation, will have specially curated sessions for children.
