Maintenance not automatic if wife is earning more: Karnataka HC
A husband cannot be automatically ordered to pay maintenance simply because a wife files a petition, the Karnataka high court ruled. The court must assess financial realities, noting that a financially sound wife earning more than her husband, without dependents, shouldn’t automatically receive support.
