Rebel SAD MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali resigned from the Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjit) and its ‘Panthic unity coordination committee’. Ayali cited the inclusion of leaders who had lost moral authority, as per Akal Takht hukamnama, as the reason for his departure. He praised Amritpal Singh’s faction and declared he would not join Delhi-run parties or return to the SAD.
