OpenAI shuts down browser whose most-crucial ‘Google detail’ it didn’t tell users

OpenAI is discontinuing its Atlas web browser, which was launched less than a year ago. Many of Atlas’s AI-powered browsing features are now moving into ChatGPT. A new Google Chrome extension will also offer these capabilities to users. The company is also upgrading its ChatGPT desktop app with a built-in browser.
