Promised classroom, offered screen: Bengaluru techie wins Rs 62k after year-long battle
A techie’s quest for a cybersecurity certification turned into a consumer court battle after Hackers University failed to provide promised in-person classes, instead pushing online alternatives. Despite paying nearly Rs 79,000, the institute delayed a refund for two years. The consumer commission ruled in favor of the techie, citing deficiency in service and unfair trade practices, ordering a refund with interest and litigation costs.
