Team India is set to lock horns with Sri Lanka in the white-ball series. The series will include three ODI and the same number of T20I matches.

Ahead of the series, there were several reports that the first ODI match between the teams is being shifted from Delhi to Ahmedabad. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Devajit Saikia has denied the reports by saying that they are “not accurate”.

He said the match, to be played on December 13, was allotted to Delhi as per a standard policy, and no change has been made to the venue.

“Reports suggesting that the India-Sri Lanka ODI match scheduled in Delhi may be shifted to Ahmedabad are not accurate. There has been no such decision by the BCCI,” said Saikia.

“Further, it needs to be reiterated that bilateral matches are primarily allotted by following a standard policy,” he added.

The reports stated that the match has been moved to Ahmedabad as there is ongoing construction work at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The first ODI match between Team India and Sri Lanka is scheduled to be played on December 13 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The second game will be played on December 16 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the third clash on December 19.

Later, the teams will lock horns with each other in the first T20I match, which is scheduled to be played on December 22 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. The second and third T20I matches will be played on December 24 and 27, respectively. The Barabati Stadium in Cuttack will host the second match, whereas the fans will witness the action for the third T20I at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
