Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has proposed a 60km extension to Tumakuru, aiming to be the state’s first inter-district Metro corridor. The project, estimated at Rs 18,000-20,000 crore, plans 16 stations and aims to reduce travel time to one hour, with an estimated daily ridership of 3 lakh.
