Safeguards? Nearly 20k acres in T agency areas pass into non-tribal hands
Despite strict laws, approximately 20,000 acres of tribal land in Telangana have been illegally transferred to non-tribals over decades. Over 4,700 acres are entangled in 714 pending legal cases, with many violations going unreported due to informal transactions. Financial distress often forces tribals to sell, while buyers offer higher prices, exacerbating the issue.
