Shree Charani speaks about Team India's mindset ahead of clash against Australia

In the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 match against Bangladesh, Team India emerged victorious by five wickets at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Greater Manchester.
During the match, Team India’s spinner Shree Charani claimed two wickets for 21 runs in four overs.
The “Women in Blue” will now lock horns with Australia in the next fixture. The clash is scheduled to be played on June 28 at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in the City of Westminster.
Speaking about Team India‘s mindset ahead of the clash against Australia, Charani said that her teammates will look to keep things simple.
“Yes, the Australia game is going to be an important one. We want to win and finish on top of the group stage. But we are not going to treat it any differently. We are going to keep things simple,” she said on JioHotstar.
She also said that Team India has faced the Aussies on previous occasions and is focused on one match at a time since the start of the global showpiece.
“We have played against them before, and we know what to expect. It’s about executing our skills on the day. One game at a time. That has been our approach throughout this tournament, and we will continue with the same mindset,” added Charani.
Shree Charani is also enjoying the top spot on the list of players with the most wickets in the ongoing edition of the global showpiece. So far, she has played four matches and bagged 12 wickets with an economy of 5.31.
Currently, Team India is placed in the second position in Group A. So far, the side has secured three wins and suffered one loss. With a net run rate (NRR) of +2.268, the “Women in Blue” also have six points.
