UPI charge plan draws flak from Bengaluru businesses
In Bengaluru, local merchants are rallying against a suggested MDR affecting UPI payments above Rs 2,000. The imminent implementation of a Rs 5 fee for each such transaction has sent ripples of concern among fuel dealers, pharmacies, and restaurants, who worry it could erode their profits. In response, petroleum dealers have approached the central government, seeking a reprieve from this added burden.
