US student visa rules change Sept 15: What international students need to know

International students in the US will face new rules from September 15, 2026. F-1 students will receive a fixed admission period based on their program length. This new admission period cannot exceed four years for most students. The departure period after program completion is reduced from sixty days to thirty days.
