New Zealand is set to lock horns with Team India in the five-match T20I series. The first match is scheduled to be played on October 22 at the Hagley Park South in the central city of Christchurch.

Ahead of the match, New Zealand’s pacer Jacob Duffy heaped praise on Team India’s explosive opening batsman Vaibhav Sooryavanshi by saying that he is an incredible talent.

“First of all, he’s an incredible talent. Obviously, he’s taken the IPL by storm and what’s amazing, he strikes it so hard but he does it so consistently,” he told the reporters.

The pacer then said that the weather conditions in New Zealand will be challenging for Sooryavanshi. He also added that New Zealand’s management has had a session to discuss the plans against him.

“He’s striking at 250 (strike-rate) every game and he’s not missing out very often. So that’s incredible in itself. I think he played in England, so conditions will be a little bit different for him, so that’s obviously one thing for him to be challenged with. We’ve certainly had a good scouting session on him and got our plans as to what we want to do to him,” said Duffy.

The second T20I match will be played on October 24 at the same venue. The third T20I match is scheduled to be played on October 27 at the Wellington Regional Stadium in Wellington, followed by the fourth game on October 30 at the Eden Park in Auckland. The Seddon Park in Hamilton will host the fifth clash on November 1.

It will be interesting to see if the “Men in Blue” manage to secure win in the series against the “Black Caps”.
