Women's T20I Rankings: Sree Charani crosses 800-point margin after Asia Cup win

India’s comprehensive Women’s Asia Cup victory in Dubai has resulted in major gains for several of their star performers in the latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings. The team secured a historic eighth Asia Cup trophy following a 72-run win against Sri Lanka in the final, largely due to impressive performances from Sree Charani, Deepti Sharma, and Shafali Verma.

Charani delivered a match-winning four-wicket spell in the final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, ending the tournament with 12 wickets. Her efforts pushed her to the top of the T20I bowling rankings, making her the first Indian bowler to cross the 800-point threshold.

Reaching a career-high rating of 802 points, Sree Charani joins an exclusive group alongside England spinner Sophie Ecclestone (802) and Australian pacer Megan Schutt (806) as the only female bowlers in history to cross the 800-point barrier.

Teammate Deepti Sharma moved into second place directly behind Charani on the bowling list. Deepti climbed four places after taking 14 wickets throughout the tournament, including figures of 3/19 in the final match.

The rankings updates also brought positive news for India’s batting lineup. Opening batter Shafali Verma climbed one spot to sixth in the T20I batting rankings after finishing as the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 236 runs at an average of 47.20. Her all-round contributions also took her five places up the T20I all-rounder rankings to 15th position.

At the top of the T20I batting chart, Australian batters Beth Mooney and Georgia Voll continue to hold the highest spots. Elsewhere, Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sultana moved up one spot to equal 20th, while Sri Lanka’s Imesha Dulani also reached 20th after climbing two places. Sharmin Akhter Supta moved up three places to equal 40th, and Pakistan’s Shawaal Zulfiqar jumped four slots to 45th.

Bangladesh’s bowling department registered multiple gains following their Asia Cup campaign. Fast bowler Marufa Akter climbed three spots to equal 15th, spinner Rabeya Khan advanced three places to 18th, Sultana Khatun surged five positions to 32nd, and Fahima Khatun jumped six spots to round out the top 50 at 49th.
