Bihar Chief Minister hands over Rs 1 cr cheque to Kishan for T20 WC heroics

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, on Friday, handed a cheque of Rs 1 crore to Team India cricketer Ishan Kishan for his crucial contributions in the T20 World Cup 2026.
The left-handed batsman received a warm welcome from Choudhary. He placed a stole around the cricketer`s neck and presented him with a memento before handing the cheque.
The Chief Minister shared a post on his official social media handle, which read, “The member of the Indian cricket team who won the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, the brilliant batsman, the pride of Bihar, Shri @ishankishan51 Ji, was honored by the state government with a cash prize of 1 crore rupees for his crucial contribution in winning the World Cup. Best wishes for a successful cricket career, keep illuminating the name of Bihar like this.”

Top officials, including Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit and close relatives of Kishan, were also present on the occasion.
Currently, the 27-year-old cricketer is representing Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The Sunrisers have been enjoying a solid form in the tournament. Currently, they are placed in the third position with seven wins and five defeats from 12 games. They have a net run rate (NRR) of +0.331 and 14 points.
The “Orange Army” will gear up to play the upcoming fixture against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 18 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
