Mark Zuckerberg returned to ‘X’ after 3 years:Meta launched ‘Muse Spark 1.1’ AI model to compete with OpenAI and Anthropic

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has returned to the social media platform X after more than three years. He has announced the launch of the company’s newest and most advanced AI model, ‘Muse Spark 1.1’. Zuckerberg’s move is part of Meta’s well-thought-out strategy to compete with tech giants like OpenAI and Anthropic in the AI market. Low-Cost Coding and Agentic Performance Mark Zuckerberg wrote in his post, “Today we are releasing Muse Spark 1.1. It is a strong agentic and coding model at a very low cost. It is available in our new Meta Model API and Meta AI.” He stated that this model is strongest in tool use, computer use, and agentic performance. It can easily complete long-running tasks with a 1-million-token context window. It is capable of delegating work to parallel sub-agents and has been trained to use computer interfaces on desktop, mobile, or browser. Developers will be able to create applications with Muse Spark Zuckerberg stated that developers will be able to create new applications using Muse Spark. The company’s entire focus is on delivering robust agentic and multimodal models at very low cost. Developers in the US can now access Muse Spark 1.1 through the public preview of the Meta Model API. Complex tasks will be completed with minimal human intervention Meta has described this upgraded model as its most capable AI system to date for coding, agentic workflows, and software automation. This model can not only write and debug code but also interact with software tools. It has the ability to understand text, images, and videos and complete extremely complex and multi-step tasks without any human intervention. Developed by Superintelligence Labs This model has been developed by Meta’s ‘Superintelligence Labs’. Earlier, the company had introduced its original Muse Spark model in April, which aimed to bridge the gap with rivals in the field of AI. With this new launch, Meta has formally entered the paid AI model API market. $20 Free Credit and Pricing Math Developers who sign up for the Meta Model API will receive a $20 free credit, after which they will shift to a ‘pay-as-you-go’ pricing model. Meta has priced this service at $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens. This price is higher than OpenAI’s entry-level ‘GPT-5 mini’ and Anthropic’s ‘Claude Haiku 4.5’, but lower than Anthropic’s premium ‘Claude Sonnet 4.6’ model. WhatsApp and Instagram’s Llama Models Will Change Muse Spark 1.1 is currently being rolled out in the ‘Thinking Mode’ of the Meta AI app and website. In the coming time, this model will gradually replace the existing Llama models present in WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Meta’s AI-enabled smart glasses. Recently, Meta also introduced ‘Muse Image’, the first image-generation model developed by its Superintelligence Labs, which further strengthened the company’s generative AI portfolio.
