Samsung has officially wrapped up its biggest launch event of the year, Galaxy Unpacked 2026, introducing a new generation of foldable smartphones, AI-powered smartwatches, and its first-ever AI smart glasses. The event also marked Samsung’s biggest push yet into agentic AI, with new Galaxy AI capabilities, deeper Gemini integration, and the debut of AI OS. Samsung launches Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra Stealing the spotlight was the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which Samsung called its most capable smartphone yet. The foldable features a slimmer profile, premium titanium construction, and upgraded Galaxy AI capabilities. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, a custom Qualcomm chipset designed to deliver faster performance, better efficiency, and new agentic AI experiences. Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra highlights Samsung says the new Flex Titanium technology strengthens the foldable display while reducing the visibility of the crease. Galaxy Z Fold 8 arrives with a new wide design Samsung also introduced the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8, calling it the company’s first wide-form factor foldable. Unlike previous Fold devices, the Fold 8 is shorter and noticeably wider, making the cover screen easier to use while offering a larger tablet-like experience when unfolded. The Fold 8 features: Samsung claims the Fold 8 is its lightest Fold smartphone to date. Galaxy Z Flip 8 gets slimmer and smarter Samsung refreshed its clamshell foldable with the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 8. While the overall design remains familiar, Samsung has made the device thinner, lighter, and more powerful with improved AI experiences. One UI 9 and Galaxy AI take centre stage Artificial intelligence was one of the biggest themes of Galaxy Unpacked 2026. Samsung introduced AI OS, a new AI-first experience powered by its continued partnership with Google. Samsung also confirmed that Gemini AI will now work across its Galaxy ecosystem, including smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and other connected devices. Gemini can automate actions across more than 40 supported apps and services, while Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) combines notes, images, files, recordings, and documents into a single AI workspace. Samsung enters the AI smart glasses market One of the biggest surprises of the event was the official launch of the Galaxy Glasses. Samsung partnered with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster to design its first smart eyewear. Powered by a Snapdragon chipset, the glasses feature: Samsung demonstrated practical use cases such as identifying landmarks, ordering coffee while walking, and booking restaurants simply by looking at them. Galaxy Watch 9 unveiled Samsung also refreshed its smartwatch lineup with the launch of the Galaxy Watch 9. According to Qualcomm, the custom processor combines its latest CPU, GPU, and NPU to deliver better AI performance, faster computing, and longer battery life across Samsung’s latest foldables. Samsung doubles down on AI This year’s Galaxy Unpacked made one thing clear: Samsung is no longer focusing only on hardware. Alongside new foldable phones and wearables, the company showcased an AI-first strategy powered by Galaxy AI, Gemini Intelligence, and AI OS.
