IPL 2026: RCB thrash DC by 9 wickets in dominant display in Delhi

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru thrashed the Delhi Capitals by nine wickets to secure another emphatic win in IPL 2026. RCB dominated with the ball before comfortably chasing down a modest target.
Chasing just 76 runs, RCB got off to a brisk start, with Jacob Bethell scoring quick runs at the top. The left-hander was eventually dismissed by Kyle Jamieson for 20 off 11 balls.
Devdutt Padikkal then took charge, smashing 34 off just 13 balls to steer RCB towards the target with ease. Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 23 off 15 balls. With this knock, Kohli also became the first batter in IPL history to reach the 9,000-run milestone.
RCB chased down the target in just 6.3 overs, sealing a comprehensive victory.
With this win, RCB strengthened their hold on second place in the standings and significantly boosted their net run rate. The victory was set up by a clinical bowling performance that dismantled DC from the outset.
RCB’s all-round strength was on full display as they delivered a commanding performance away from home.
RCB bowl out DC for 75
Earlier, Delhi Capitals were bowled out for just 75 in a historic collapse against RCB’s disciplined bowling attack. The hosts crumbled to 13/6 at the end of the powerplay – the lowest powerplay score in IPL history.
RCB’s pace duo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood wreaked havoc, ripping through the DC batting lineup.
At one stage, DC were reduced to 8/6, raising the possibility of the lowest total in IPL history — a record currently held by RCB, who were once bowled out for 49.
A brief recovery followed, with David Miller scoring 19 off 18 balls, while Abhishek Porel contributed 30 off 33 balls to help DC reach 75.
For RCB, Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 3 wickets for just 5 runs in his first three overs, while Josh Hazlewood returned figures of 4 for 12 in his three overs, leading a ruthless bowling display.
