The Delhi Capitals were bowled out for just 75 by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a dramatic contest in Delhi. The hosts suffered a massive collapse, slumping to 13/6 at the end of six overs — the lowest-ever powerplay score in IPL history.

RCB’s pace duo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood wreaked havoc, dismantling the DC batting line-up with relentless accuracy and movement.

Bhuvneshwar struck with the second ball of the innings, setting the tone for what turned into a nightmare for Delhi. KL Rahul was dismissed for just one run, followed by Sameer Rizvi, who departed for a first-ball duck.

At one stage, Delhi were reeling at 8/6, raising the possibility of the lowest total in IPL history — a record currently held by RCB, who were bowled out for 49.

After the early collapse, David Miller attempted to stabilise the innings with a 19 off 18 balls. Abhishek Porel provided some resistance with a 30 off 33 deliveries, helping Delhi reach 75.

For RCB, Bhuvneshwar returned impressive figures of 3/5 in his first three overs, while Hazlewood claimed 4/12 in his three-over spell.

Earlier, RCB captain Rajat Patidar opted to bowl first after winning the toss, citing the nature of the pitch.

“We will bowl first. This is a high-scoring ground, so it won’t make much difference. We will try to put them under pressure in the second innings. The most important thing is that different players are stepping up and delivering in different matches. We have played good cricket and want to continue that momentum. The past is behind us; we are focused on playing good cricket,” Patidar said.
