The Royal Challengers Bengaluru thrashed the Delhi Capitals by 9 wickets to secure yet another win in this season`s IPL. RCB dominated with the ball earlier before chasing down the total with ease.
Chasing just 76 runs, Devdutt Padikkal smashed 34 runs in 13 balls to get RCB to the total with ease in just 6.3 overs.
Earlier, the Delhi Capitals were all out for just 75 runs by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a historic bowling display by the visitors. The Delhi Capitals imploded as they were reduced to 13/6 at the end of 6 overs against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the lowest ever powerplay score in IPL history.
For RCB, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 3 wickets for just 5 runs in his first three overs. While his pace bowling partner Josh Hazlewood took 4 wickets for 12 runs in his three overs.
Speaking after the loss, Axar Patel said that the batting let the team down. DC`s top order collapsed, and the hosts were 8/6 at one stage.
“I don`t even know what happened. That`s why they say you have to be on your toes in cricket. We have to move on from this match. From today`s point of view you can say it did affect, but you can look back, if the catches were taken or had we taken the single against GT, then momentum would have been with us. “Absolutely. Even I am surprised by the way Wicket played. All credit goes to the bowlers, Bhuvi and Hazlewood. They hit the right areas. The swing was normal, but the good thing was we got early wickets, and that kept us in the driving seat. The way Suyash bowled, stump to stump, it was really good to see. It is very important to follow your routines. We are taking it one game at a time. Different players are coming up and doing well. In T20 cricket, on flat pitches, you need the bowling, because bowlers only can win you tournaments.” Rajat Patidar said.
