Can’t praise the team’s desire and attitude enough: Arteta
[[{“value”:”
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta heaped praise on the attitude and desire of his players following a 1-0 win over West Ham, which keeps them in pole position to clinch the English Premier League title.
Arsenal required an 83rd-minute goal from Leandro Trossard to breach the Hammers’s defence. They also benefited from a VAR intervention in stoppage time as West Ham’s Pablo was adjudged to have blocked David Raya with his arm as the Arsenal custodian rose to deny Callum Wilson’s header to no avail.
“I cannot praise enough the attitude, the desire, the courage and the quality of the team shown because there was so much at stake. Today we knew against a team that is fighting for their life against a club has an incredible history, how tough it was going to be,” said Arteta, whose side lead the table with 79 points (36 games). They are five points clear of second-placed Man City, who have a game in hand.
