Asian Games 2026: India Men’s 10m Air Rifle team claims silver medal

India’s success on the shooting range continued as the trio of Rudrankksh Patil, Parth Mane, and Himanshu Dhillon clinched a silver medal in the men’s 10m air rifle team competition at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya on Monday.

The Indian squad confirmed second place with a total score of 1890.1, finishing behind China, who took the gold medal with a tally of 1899.0. South Korea claimed the bronze medal after scoring 1841.4 points. The result secured India’s third medal of the Asian Games 2026, with all three podium finishes being silver medals earned in shooting events.

During the qualification phase for the men’s 10m air rifle individual competition, which doubled as the team event final, Rudrankksh finished in third position with 631.8 points, while Himanshu finished seventh with a score of 630.0. Parth posted 628.3 points to finish in 11th place. Their combined aggregate yielded the silver-medal total, while both Rudrankksh and Himanshu earned spots in the individual final scheduled for later in the schedule.

India’s opening day shooting success

The qualifying round saw each shooter work through six series of shots. Rudrankksh opened with 104.2 in his initial series before improving to total scores of 210.2 after the second and 315.9 after the third. He maintained his form with 421.6 by the fourth series and 527.1 by the fifth, eventually completing his effort at 631.8.

Parth posted 104.5 in his first series and moved to 208.2 in his second. He steadily built his score to 312.9 through three series, 417.9 through four, and 521.6 after the fifth, closing out his six-series card at 628.3.

Himanshu recorded 105.3 in his opening series, reaching 209.9 after the second, 314.7 by the third, and 421.0 through the fourth. After reaching 525.6 in the fifth series, he finished all six series with a total of 630.0 points.

Monday’s podium finish followed Sunday’s strong start in the women’s 10m air rifle events. Elavenil Valarivan claimed a silver medal in the individual final, while Valarivan, Sonam Uttam Maskar, and Vidarsa Kochalumkal Vinod together won the team silver medal on a successful outing for the Indian team.
