AI chatbots ChatGPT and Claude suddenly went down worldwide, including in India, on Thursday evening. The sudden outage affected thousands of users, who reported problems logging in, receiving responses, and loading previous chats. The disruption left many users unable to continue their work. More than 36,000 complaints reported for ChatGPT in the US On online outage-monitoring platform Downdetector, more than 36,000 users in the US reported problems with the AI platform, with complaints peaking at around 8:41 PM. In India, the highest number of complaints was recorded at 8:23 PM, with 3,410 reports. Around 81% of users reported problems using ChatGPT, while 8% faced login issues. Another 6% reported problems with the website. Users also complained about difficulties logging in, getting responses, and loading their previous chats.
More than 7,500 complaints reported for Claude in India On Downdetector, more than 37,000 users in the US reported problems with Claude AI, with complaints peaking at around 8:23 PM. In India, the highest number of complaints recorded so far was around 185 at 7:01 PM. More than 7,500 users have so far reported issues with the platform. Around 50% of users said they were having trouble using Claude Code, while 24% reported problems with Claude Chat.
