IND vs ZIM T20Is: Zimbabwe name squad for three-match series against Team India

Zimbabwe is all set to lock horns with Team India for the three-match T20I series. The first match is scheduled to be played on July 23 at the Harare Sports Club.
Ahead of the series, Zimbabwe has announced the 15-member squad, with all-rounder Wessly Madhevere returning to the setup. Wicketkeeper-batsman Tafadzwa Tsiga has also earned his first T20I call-up.
Pacer Newman Nyamhuri is also back after recovering from a niggle that ruled him out of the recent Bangladesh T20I series. Tanaka Chivanga, who was drafted in as Nyamhuri’s replacement, retains his place.
On the other hand, since Shreyas Iyer‘s appointment as captain in the shortest format, Team India has suffered two consecutive defeats. It will be interesting to see if Iyer and his men bounce back against Zimbabwe.
Additionally, wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has been dropped from India’s squad for the upcoming series. Cricket fans will also keep a tab on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. In the series against England, the left-handed batsman didn’t taste much success. Ahead of the series against Zimbabwe, Sooryavanshi will be expected to deliver big knocks.
The second and third T20I matches between the teams will be played on July 25 and 26, respectively, at the same venue.
Team India also suffered a ODI series loss by 2-1 against the “Three Lions”. In the third ODI match, Team India’s star batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli delivered big knocks along with skipper Shubman Gill. Rohit smashed a glorious ton, whereas Kohli and Gill registered 74 and 77 runs, respectively. Despite stunning performances by hosts, they suffered a defeat by 27 runs at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in the City of Westminster.
