IPL 2026: Gujarat Titans beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 4 wickets

The Gujarat Titans defeated the Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 4 wickets to get yet another victory in IPL 2026. Chasing 156, the hosts got off to a flying start thanks to their skipper, Shubman Gill.

GT captain Shubman Gill started with a bang, taking on Josh Hazlewood in his first over. The Indian Test and ODI skipper raced to 43 runs off just 18 deliveries as he imposed himself on the opposition bowlers. Gill`s flashy innings included 4 fours and 3 sixes, scoring at a strike rate of over 238.

After Gill`s dismissal, Jos Buttler chipped in with 39 runs in 19 balls to help GT on their way to chase RCB`s total. Jason Holder and Rahul Tewatia scored important runs in the end to take GT to yet another victory. Tewatia remained unbeaten on 27 runs in 17 balls, while Rashid Khan hit the winning runs, scoring 7 runs in 6 balls.

For RCB, Bhuvneshwar Kumar starred with 3 wickets, while Romario Shepherd chipped in with 2 wickets with the ball.

RCB scored 155 in the first innings

Earlier, the Royal Challenger Bengaluru were all out for 155 runs at the end of the innings against the Gujarat Titans. RCB started off well but lost wickets in clusters and were reduced to just 155 runs in 20 overs.

Virat Kohli was the star for RCB in the powerplay, scoring a quickfire 28 runs in just 13 balls. However, the visitors collapsed in the middle overs and lost wickets in quick succession.

Devdutt Padikkal was RCB`s top scorer as he made 40 in 24 balls. Romario Shepherd scored 17 crucial runs to take the visitors to 155 runs in 20 overs. RCB were 79/2 at one stage and ended up at 126/8 after losing wickets in a short span of time.

For GT, Rashid Khan was the best bowler, finishing his four-over spell with 2 wickets for 19 runs. He was well supported by Jason Holder, who took 2 wickets in his four overs.

With this win, GT stay at the fifth spot with 10 points, while RCB stay in second with 12 points from their first 9 matches.
