The Royal Challenger Bengaluru smashed 59 runs for the loss of 2 wickets at the end of the powerplay against the Gujarat Titans.

Virat Kohli was the star for RCB, scoring a quickfire 28 runs in just 13 balls. The Indian star smashed 5 consecutive boundaries off Rabada`s bowling, scoring 21 runs in his over. However, the South African had the last laugh as he dismissed Kohli in the fourth over.

Devdutt Padikkal continued RCB`s fast start as he raced to 14 runs in 8 balls at the end of the powerplay.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Shubman Gill was happy to bowl first. The GT captain would want to win against RCB and enter the top 4 in the points table.

“We are going to bowl first. Looks a little dry, a little patchy. The first four or five overs can give us a bit of swing in the first innings and just in case if there`s any dew, we always like to chase it. Two very important two points this for you. Yes, we have got,the next two games, including this one at home. So I think these two games are gonna determine where we stand and how far we go in the tournament. So the boys are ready to go. We`re going with the same team.” Shubman Gill said.

Rajat Patidar admitted that he wanted to bowl first, too. The RCB skipper confirmed that the visitors will start with the same team.

“Obviously, we were looking to field first, but to be honest, I think in an IPL, I think there are good wickets to bat on. But I think it`s a green surface with nicely grass cover on it. But I don`t think it will help too much, it will be good to bat on. And so we`ll put a good total on the board and give them under pressure. I think the way we are playing, the way we played first off of this IPL, I think that was very good to see. Same team.” Rajat Patidar said.

Confirmed Playing XI for both teams:
