The Gujarat Titans got off to a flying start against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru as they raced to 104 runs for no loss in the first 10 overs. Sai Sudarshan was the star with the bat for GT as he raced to 78 off 42 balls.

Sudarshan scored 78 runs, including 10 fours and 4 sixes. His innings set the tone for the visitors early on as they looked to mount a big total against RCB. Shubman Gill played the supporting role as he scored 22 in 18 balls.

For RCB, Rasikh Dar was the most expensive bowler, going for 23 runs in his 2 overs. The RCB bowlers will hope to stop this GT run flow in the first innings.

Earlier, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the toss and elected to bowl first against the Gujarat Titans at  M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

“I just feel this will be a bowl-first pitch. And as you all know, chasing gives us a lot of clarity about the result, the score and the total. One change – Salty got injured, Bethell is in. I think one great point that I like is that we are assessing the wicket and assessing the situation pretty well this year. And of course, there’s a lot of planning behind it. It’s pretty obvious.” Rajat Patidar said.

Shubman Gill said he was also looking to bowl first. The GT captain also confirmed that Jason Holder will play his first match of the season.

“Not really, chasing is good here, but hopefully we`ll have a good game. It`s all about assessing the conditions early, getting off to a good start and setting up the foundation early. Games like that (against MI) can happen in such a big tournament, but we`re focusing on the positives. Two changes: Jason Holder is playing, and Manav Suthar is back.” Gill said.

Confirmed Playing XI for both teams:

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (Playing XI): Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar(c), Jitesh Sharma(w), Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Suyash Sharma, Rasikh Salam Dar
