Lollapalooza India returns to Mumbai’s iconic Mahalaxmi Racecourse for its landmark fifth edition on January 23 and 24 in 2027, celebrating five years of bringing together globally acclaimed artists, the most exciting homegrown talent and one of the most engaged festival communities anywhere in the world.
Ticket sales for Lollapalooza India 2027 will open with a limited exclusive Pre-Sale for RuPay Credit Card Holders at 11 am on August 30 on BookMyShow. The Early Bird On-Sale of tickets for the festival will go live at 11 am on September 2 on the platform.
While the latest edition has been announced, fans are excited for the lineup, especially because the last few years has seen some of the biggest musicians in the world take the stage including Linkin Park’s power-packed performance earlier this year.
Across its past editions, Lollapalooza India has hosted performances from the likes of Imagine Dragons, The Strokes, Sting, OneRepublic, Jonas Brothers, Green Day, Shawn Mendes, Louis Tomlinson, Playboi Carti, and YUNGBLUD while consistently championing Indian artists including DIVINE, Hanumankind, Prateek Kuhad, Bloodywood, Nucleya, Talwiinder and many more.
Most recently, Lollapalooza 2026 edition drew the largest crowds in the festival’s history. Linkin Park’s much-anticipated Mumbai performance and first-ever appearance at Lollapalooza India also recorded the largest audience for any single performance since the festival’s debut in 2023.
Lollapalooza India 2027 will also see the return of RuPay Amplified Access, designed to amp up the Lolla experience for RuPay Credit Card Holders. The two-day ticket includes all the amenities of General Access, Lolla Comfort by RuPay and Lolla VIP, with added perks to make the festival experience even more rewarding, from a select food experience at select festival stalls and a merchandise voucher redeemable against a curated selection of official Lolla merchandise, to a complimentary cocktail/mocktail voucher at designated festival bars during a specified time window.
Growing appetite for music concerts
Beyond the performance stages, Lollapalooza India has evolved into a showcase for contemporary culture. From the vibrant Lolla Food Park and large-scale art installations to immersive brand collaborations and fan-led communities, the festival has created a cultural ecosystem that extends well beyond a single weekend. Each year, thousands of fans from across India and beyond travel to Mumbai, transforming Mahalaxmi Racecourse into a vibrant melting pot of music, culture, food and fandom. For two days, the festival becomes a shared space for myriad subcultures, fan clubs and creative communities to come together, united by a collective spirit of curiosity, connection and discovery.
The festival also showcases India’s growing appetite for music concerts particularly in a post-Covid-19 pandemic world. According to a Live Nation survey conducted among attendees of Lollapalooza India 2026, nearly two in three attendees travelled from outside Mumbai to be part of the experience, highlighting the rise of concert tourism in India and the festival’s growing status as a destination in its own right. An overwhelming 97 per cent of attendees expressed their intent to return for future editions, while close to 60 per cent cited music discovery and the festival atmosphere among their primary motivations for attending. Merchandise sales also recorded strong double-digit year-on-year growth, underscoring the deep emotional connection audiences continue to build with the festival.
Featuring four stages and over 20 hours of live performances, there is more than one reason to attend Lollapalooza India in 2027 as it will once again deliver its signature blend of globally celebrated artists, breakthrough talent, immersive experiences and unforgettable moments.
Five years in, Lollapalooza India has become more than a music festival. It has become a cultural anchor, redefining how a generation experiences live music and forging a living, breathing community that returns year after year, drawn by the promise of discovery and the certainty of the unforgettable.
Among other aspects of the music festival in Mumbai, Lollapalooza India continues to lead with purpose through its #LollaForChange initiative, embedding sustainability, accessibility and inclusivity into the festival experience. From sign language interpreters, PWD viewing platforms and wheelchair-friendly infrastructure to gender-neutral washrooms, free hydration stations, trained counsellors and dedicated help desks, the festival is designed to ensure everyone feels welcome. Family-friendly measures such as the Tag Your Kid programme and protective earplugs for children help create a safer experience for audiences of all ages. The festival’s carbon footprint is equally deliberate, with tonnes of single-use plastic diverted from landfills, surplus food donated to local communities and green mobility initiatives such as #TakeTheTrain and Cityflo shuttle partnerships reinforcing Lollapalooza India’s commitment to creating a positive impact beyond the festival grounds.
