Los Angeles declares January 6 as “Diljit Dosanjh Day”

Indian-American actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh has taken over the world not only with his music but also his entire persona that has mesmerised people across the globe over the years. 

Now, Diljit’s influence has also taken over Los Angeles as the City Council has now declared January 6 in 2027 as “Diljit Dosanjh Day” for his role in popularising Punjabi music in the USA.

It was shared by the Punjabi singing sensation on Instagram in a post saying, “Diljit Dosanjh day in LA, US The Los Angeles City Council has officially adopted a civic resolution declaring January 6, 2027, as “Diljit Dosanjh Day”.

Introduced by Council woman Monica Rodriguez, the resolution honors the Indian-born singer, actor, and producer for his significant contributions to globalising Punjabi music and promoting South Asian representation in mainstream American culture.”

Incidentally, January 6 is Diljit’s birthday, and is even more special as the Punjabi singer, who has his roots in India, became a citizen of the USA in 2022.
