Soon make UPI payments using AI glasses:Health ATM to conduct over 80 tests; top innovations showcased at IMC-2026
The India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 showcased several innovations aimed at making everyday life easier, as well as improving security and emergency services. The main attractions included Reliance Jio’s AI smart glasses, a dentist robot that provides an oral health report in 1 minute, CureBay’s smart care kiosk, ‘Dronastra’ for border security and Reliance Asteria’s ‘PATANG’ drone for disaster management. Let’s take a look at these top innovations at IMC 2026: 1. Jio’s AI smart glasses: Make UPI payments through your glasses Reliance Jio showcased AI smart glasses. The glasses support UPI payments, meaning users will be able to make payments directly using just the smart glasses, without taking out their phones. They will be available in two variants-an audio-only model and a camera model. The company has not yet revealed all their specifications, but Jio claims that their price will be highly budget-friendly for Indian consumers. 2. Care Kiosk: Reports of more than 80 tests on your phone Health tech company CureBay showcased a machine called Care Kiosk. Equipped with AI, it is a kind of smart health ATM where you will not have to wait for hours or days for blood test results. The machine can perform more than 80 tests, including BP, blood sugar, liver profile and haemoglobin, in one place. AI and advanced sensors analyse the samples, and an accurate digital report is sent to your phone in just 30 minutes. 3. Dentist robot: Will detect dental diseases in 1 minute An unusual ‘dentist robot’ made in India was launched at IMC 2026. It can conduct a complete examination of the teeth and gums in just one minute. It has been developed by a medtech start-up company. This robotic dental kiosk is equipped with advanced scanning sensors and AI technology, enabling it to prepare an accurate oral health report without any pain or lengthy waiting. Benefit: You will know about dental disease at an early stage even before visiting a doctor, making timely treatment easier. 4. Dronastra: Will find enemy drones and destroy them in the sky This is an intelligent ‘air guard’ drone made in India and equipped with AI technology that will protect the border and important areas. If an enemy drone enters Indian territory, it will detect and destroy it in the air. Key points- Drone Astra attacks in two ways 5. Open-arm robot: Will work in emergencies Qualcomm showcased a new open-arm robot. This advanced robotic arm precisely replicates the movements of human hands and arms. Running on Qualcomm’s chipset and AI platform, the robot can work in places that are fatal or extremely dangerous for humans. 6. Patang Drone: Will provide an emergency network immediately during disasters A special drone called Patang was showcased at IMC 2026. It provides network connectivity during emergencies. It was developed by Asteria Aerospace, a Reliance Industries company. When mobile towers are destroyed in a major disaster such as a flood, earthquake or storm, this drone flies through the sky and extends an emergency network across the affected area. The drone is equipped with transmitters that provide strong signals and a 4K camera capable of very clear recording. It can remain airborne in the same spot for a long time, enabling people trapped there and the teams helping them to speak to each other by phone.
