There's a new beer in Goa, and here's all you need to know about it
[[{“value”:”
From beach afternoons that have no end time to sundowners that turn into late nights, Goa has a way of making you forget the plan and simply go with the flow.
Adding to the mood is Drifters Brewing Company, the Maharashtra-born craft beer brand that has now made its way to Goa with two easy-drinking brews crafted for exactly these moments.
First up is Belgian White, a smooth, hazy wheat beer with bright citrus notes of Curaçao orange peel and a subtle warmth from coriander seeds. Mexican Crisp takes a lighter, cleaner route, a refreshing lager with gentle fruity and floral notes, soft grainy sweetness and a crisp finish. At 4.6% ABV, both beers are made to be refreshing without overpowering the occasion, whether it’s a cold pint after a day by the sea, a sundowner with friends or the spontaneous “let’s grab one” that turns into several hours.
What makes the beers particularly distinctive is Drifters’ approach to combining the taste and quality of craft with the stability of commercial beer. Both brews are pasteurised and shelf-stable, with no added preservatives or additives, allowing them to retain their craft character and taste while offering the consistency and stability needed to travel across markets. It’s a reflection of Drifters’ larger ambition, to evolve from a Maharashtra-born brand into a beer brand built for a wider, global audience.
Available across select bars, hotels, cafés, pubs and wine shops across Goa, Drifters Belgian White and Mexican Crisp come in 500 ml cans priced at Rs 165 and 330 ml pints at Rs 120. And for those who prefer their beer poured fresh, Drifters is set to make its way onto taps across select Goa venues in the near future.
