E20 or E31? Karnataka lab tests show ‘excess’ ethanol
Lab tests conducted across Karnataka discovered that several petrol stations exceeded the allowed ethanol blend in petrol. The blending levels found at some stations reached up to 31.2%, far above the 20% limit. This excessive mixing could result in a significant drop in fuel mileage, affecting consumers financially. The Karnataka government has demanded clearer regulations on ethanol blending and penalties for non-compliance.
