Samsung offers lower EMI on foldable phones:Cuts monthly EMI by around 25%, while 40% of the phone’s cost is payable after two years
Buying a premium foldable smartphone can mean paying a high monthly EMI. To make these devices more affordable, Samsung has introduced the ‘Galaxy Forever Programme’, a new payment option for buyers of select Galaxy foldable phones. Under this programme, customers can bring down their monthly EMI by around 25%. However, the lower EMI does not mean that Samsung is offering a 25% discount on the phone’s total price. Instead, buyers pay 60% of the phone’s cost through EMIs over 24 months, while the remaining 40% has to be paid as a lump sum after two years. EMI drops on Galaxy foldables The starting price of the Galaxy Z Fold4 Ultra is ₹1,99,999, while the Galaxy Z Fold8 starts at ₹1,79,999. With the Galaxy Forever programme, the monthly EMI for the Ultra comes down from ₹9,417 to ₹6,997. For the Galaxy Z Fold8, the EMI falls from ₹8,584 to ₹6,416. What happens after two years? After completing the 24 months, buyers get three options: Phone can be changed after 10 months
Buyers do not necessarily have to wait for two years to upgrade. The programme also offers a buyback option based on when the phone is returned. The Galaxy Forever Programme also includes Samsung Care+, which provides coverage for liquid damage.
